"Career" isn't a Dirty Word

If you're feeling cramped and constricted by your current job, or if it's causing you a lot of job stress and interfering with your life, you need to do something about it. You may well be able to reinvigorate the job so you can go on with it, but you may have outgrown it and be ready for new challenges in a new new job. I can help you by thinking through all the problems you face, the options available, and make a realistic decision about your future.

What are Your Real Strengths?

If you decide to change jobs, you'll have to face the difficult question, "What do I want to do?" This is a complicated question, because you'll be facing such a wide variety of options. The key to a happy, successful job is to find one that lets you use all your key strengths - the ones that make work fun. If you already know those strengths, that's great, but if you're not sure about them I can help you decide what you're really good at, what you love to do, and what's important in your job.

Finding a Job that Fits Your Strengths

Finding a new, better job might be easy, if you can stay within your current company; or it might be very difficult if you have to polish your resume, go out on the job market, and start interviewing again. Whichever of these you choose, you need a carefully planned strategy so you aren't blown around by the winds of the job market. I can help you design a plan for finding your perfect job, then help you stay with the plan until you've found your dream job.

The Job Search

Once you've decided to search for a new job, don't just call a headhunter, or list your resume on Monster and Dice.com - you'll only start drowning random job opportunities that may or not fit your desires. Instead, you should have a clear idea of what job you want, where to look for it, and how to be selected over all the other candidates. And above all, you should stay in charge of the process rather than being blown around like a leaf in the wind.
